Meet Dr. Michael Posch

Dr. Posch is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. After finishing medical school in 2011, he completed residencies in both Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine/Neuromuscular Medicine at the Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in Augusta, Maine and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine respectively. He is board certified in both fields. During his fourth year of medical school, he was awarded the DiPerri scholarship for excellence in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.

Prior to a career in medicine, Dr. Posch achieved a Master of Music in Piano Performance, eventually taking him to places such as Italy, France, Portugal and Hungary. After encounters and studies with several influential piano teachers who emphasized the importance of proper anatomy and physiology at the keyboard coupled with friends who were Osteopathic Physicians practicing Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Dr. Posch shifted his professional career path to the study of Osteopathy.

Using the principles laid forth by the founder of Osteopathy Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, Dr. Posch uses a wide range of manual treatment modalities to help patients achieve an improved level of structure and function to help with many different ailments. The scope of practice can be applied to newborn feeding issues to end of life palliative care to everywhere in between.

Prior to opening his practice in Bangor, Dr. Posch practiced family medicine for nearly nine years at Martin’s Point in Brunswick and also founded Maine Osteopathic Health in 2017 in Gorham, Maine.

Outside of his medical practice at Maine Osteopathic Health, Dr. Posch enjoys playing piano, hiking, skiing, and spending time with his wife and family.
